Blade construction: Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune, Width is in average and there is Sakizori curvature leading to middle Kissaki.
Forging(Hada): Hada is a bit darkish and Itame-hada mixing in with Mokume is standing out that is called Echizen-hada. Hada is covered in Ji-nie and Chikei works.
Temper(Hamon): Hamon is covered in coarse Nie. Gunome and Togari-ha. There is Ashi and Yo works in ther interior of temper.
Tang(Nakago): Nakago is UBU unsigned. Two Ana.
Temper of tip(Boshi): Boshi is sharped up and tight turn back.
Echizen province, during Koto-period, there were distinguished families such as Fujishima Tomoshige and Chiyozuru Kuniyasu who had come from Yamashiro province. And then during Momoyama period - Early Edo period, Echizen-seki family from Mino province, Sadakuni and Yasutsugu in Shimosaka family from Yamato Senjuin school and Kunikiyo in Horikawa Kunihiro family had come to Echizen who competed each other. HIROTAKA is a pupil of Kanetane in Echizen Seki school. An accurate presumption of this sword is a major identification feature of Jigane which is a bit darkish and entwined with flowing and outstanding Itame. Hamon is mixing in with TOGARI-HA that is from Mino school. Because of old polish, there is a tiny tip off on the cutting edge, the entire condition is fine and this tip off will be removed when the blade is polished next time. Another highlight of this Katana is old fittings of which scabbard is uniform pieces blue pearl of inlay Makie lacquered, Tuba is iron openwork of giraffe design signed : Choshu-ju Naganori, Fuchi/Kashira complete pair is Shakudo Nanako ground Takabori Iroe inlay Monkey design, signed Kankeishi Mitsunari and Menuki is Shakudo ground Iroe inlay BOTAN flower design. Those old fitting was made during Edo period and strikingly healthy and nice.
