Blade construction : Shinogi-zukuri,Iori-mune. Wide in Mihaba and thick in Kasane. Well-proportioned Katana holding the curvature of symmetry leading to the middle tip. Wide ratio of Hira-ji to Shinogi-ji which is referred to as Shin-shinto configuration that appears with Bunka era •Ά‰»(1804-)

Forging (Hada) : Hada is fine Ko-Itame-hada which is well kneaded and some flowing ware is perceived. Sparkling glitter so called Ji-Nie crystallized mist covers on surface and darkish Nie lines so called Chikei activity gushes out from steel.
Temper line (Hamon) : Hamon is fine Nioi-based, in which interior is filled with Nioi-mist. Quenching boundary line starts with slope of Yakidashi then undulating Notare with small clove outline of Choji like KIKU flower.
Tang (Nakago) : Nakago is UBU in original. Heel shape is IRIYAMA V-shape.Slanting left Sujikai with cosmetical Kesho file marks. Back ridge of Nakago is well contoured with Sujikaii filemark. One Mekugi-ana peg hole. The inscription signature in front starts with family school name Hamabe •l•”Athen the pseudonym Minryushi –°—΄Žq and smith name TOSHIZANE ŽυŽΐ. The other side shows the inscription of Chinese poem „–’•s“f (not to be frightened of the STRONG).
Temper of tip (Boshi) : Temper of tip becomes small clove Choji and small circle in front whereas the back forms medium circle then deeply turns back.

Hamabe TOSHIZANE •l•”ŽυŽΐ in Tottori, Inaba domain was born in Anei 6 (1777) as a legitimate son of master Hamabe TOSHINORI •l•”ŽυŠi. Real name Gihachiro ‹V”ͺ˜Y.
He stands unlivaled in western Japan and was a dominant maker in his time to create KIKU chrysanthemum flower pattern quenching technique and trained many pupils in the same league as Suishinji MASAHIDE …SŽq³G.
Initially he named himself TOSHIKUNI Žυ‘ before succeed the head-ship of HAMANO school then changed to TOSHIZANE ŽυŽΐ on Kansei 9 (1797) when he was 20 years old.He became to add the the pseudonym Minryushi –°—΄Žq on after Kyouwa 1st (1801).
Subject Katana is heavy on hands with prominent workmanship of his own KIKU flower quenching. The other side has four Chinese Poem to show a firm faith of Samurai spirit „–’•s“f that means "Don't Freak out while stand off to the STRONG" in full of militarism. Ranks Jo-saku "Superior Made".

Due to old polish preserved in original Koshirae mount, there are some minor stains and rust. These wares are eliminated or blow away next time by skilled polish.
