Works of smith TSUGUHIRO are classified either by 1st or 2nd generation. This wakizashi is rather deep curve and beautiful shape with puffy mass, these are major feature of the standard shape during middle of Edo period, therefore it is judged as the work of 2nd generation TSUGUHIRO. The entire blade is in an original good polish state in fine condition and there are some insignificant scratch marks but these are not outstanding which shall blow away entirely next time when the blade is elaborately polished. From the different point of view, this wakizashi has been kept away from unnecesarry repeated polish, almost to keep healthy and massive shape when it was made. Attached stone surface black lacquered wakizashi set of mount comprising : iron ground/gold and silver inlay fuchi, kashira and kojiri (cherryblossom and karakusa motif), Chrysanthemum shakudo Yobori gold inlay menuki hilt ornament, Iron ground openwork tsuba (peas motif) and copper ground dragon motif kozuka (kogatana included). All these set of mount are in original except for the renewer of hilt wrapping recently. The entire koshirae is filled in with good old atmosphere.
