| Blade construction (kengyo) : Shinogi-zuruki, Iori-mune, It curves normally
leading to a middle tip. There is round end BO-HI grooves on both sides.

resolution of the blade photograph) Forging pattern (kitae hada) : Kitae hada is fine Itame-hada where surface is covered in Ji-nie with thick straight-grained pattern nie-line activity (Chikei). The entire grain marks are remarkable and striking. Tempering pattern (hamon) : Hamon is clove-outline (CHOJI-HA), Nie-based, mixture of gunome and spotted floating temper marks, the tempering edge is active with deep nioi working with frequent Su-nagashi (brushing marks). The entire temper lines varies in full and vividly bright. Tang (Nakago) : Nakago is UBU but Machi-okuri (scrape off the edge of temper/ridge on base) by about one-sun and five bu (approx. 4.5cm). Three Mekugi-peg-holes. Osujikai file-marks with an unaltered round heel. The large signature in omote is located lower side, the title [Kaga-no-kami] and then smith name [Fujiwara SADAHIRO]. Settsu in Osaka, Genroku Era was a peak period and brought many skillful craftsmen, The shape of blade is decently beautiful, temper pattern became splendidly gorgeous and the blade surface is thickly covered in a minute and delicate ji-nie what is to say Osaka Nie. According to a directory, Sadahiro was born in Shimosaka, Echizen province and had moved to Osaka. This is one of his representative works and shows his typical workmanship of great vigor, rich in Nie and disordered choji-midare (clove outline). The blade is in a good condition under the elaborate, old polish and no physical flaws such as blister, nor grain openings. However, the entire surface has some minor marks of scratching overall. This katana comes with an elegant koshirae in an excellent condition. which consists of an original protective red leather sheath cover and an original habaki collar engraving Ken-KATABAMI crest. It is understood that the sword and fittings became one of the most important tools of Samurai, not only for an official event with a warrior's spirit but also for one of the most smartest dressed up tools for an everyday or a trip.
