Blade construction: Hirazukuri, Iori-mune, Mihaba width is wide and extended large blade with puffy upper fukura in full. The entire blade is full of brave spirits and strengthened. (click HERE for super sized image of entire blade)
Forging(Hada): Kitae is conspicuously well knead large mokume burl mark generally, mixing in with small burl ware which has soft impression and moist skin. There works with whitish UTSURI reflect over the surface and shows MASAME wavy straight hada ware along the Mune-back ridge. Besides, the cutting edge area shows extremely fine and strong Ko-itame fine forged.
Temper(Hamon): Hamon is Gunome zigzag of which head is sharpened up and varies in height, multiple gunome, Tadpole shape, box-shape. Temper edge is filled in Ko-nie, slight sunagashi busing mark streams, soft Nioi mist works in the interior, Thick Ko-nie feet works toward the cutting edge.
Temper of tip(Boshi): Boshi is irregularly tempered with small circle that generate Jizou-profile shape then deeply turns back along the back ridge.
Tang(Nakago): UBU, Two peg holes. Higaki crossing filemarks. Round shape bottom heel in full. The signature on Hakiomote is two characters that reads KANE KADO.
A smith KANEKADO who was born in Seki-town, Mino province - grand father is KANEYOSHI, the second son of smith KANENAKA, belonged to an authentic hereditary school [ZENJO]. His real name is Mitsui Bunemon. He also made in Koshu-province to understand that he had served for the feudal lords Saito (Mino) or Takeda (Koshu) during the warning states period. This wakizashi reflects historical social conditions of Noble Samurais, that holds a true spirits of warriors, supplementary blade to the Uchigatana sword. The authentic Higo-style Chisa-katana style koshirae consists of Black stone surface lacquered sheath, Hilt is white ray-skin, lozenge dark green silk cord wrap, Fuchi/kashira is Oborogin(cooper/silver alloy) ground, Copper, Gold inlay - Hares, Mortar, Mallet for kasahira and fuchi is Bees against honeycomb. Menuki ornament is Shakudo ground, a set of Chrysanthemum flowers gold iroe inlay. Tsuba is Oborogin ground Nikubori, Gold inlay Dragon swims in Big Waves motif. Kozuka is shakudo ground a Horse under full bloom plum tree, gold and silver iroe inlay.
The blade is fresh polish to set with a new Shira-Saya mounting. Both wakizashi and Koshirar are excellent condition.
An original old Owari-style double layer habaki (Upper gold foiled/lower is shakudo polish ground). Shira-Saya included.
