This Tachi style katana was recently found and quite rare - unused and has been kept an original state of polish. Shark skin polish surface military uniform TACHI style koshirae seems certainly unused and an excellent condition. KANETOMO in Gunma prefecture, real name is Kiribuchi Mataichi. This is the work when he was 67 years old and it is understood from it's chiselled a title and NYUDO (a monk) that this is the work in his later years after he became a monk. The entire blade and mounting is quite massive and solid. The notable feature of forging pattern of tight wooden grain with frizzy small nie glitter is worth seeing. This work shows a fine workmanship of KANETOMO and an original unused Tachi style koshirae is another highlight of this excellent art and craft.
