Sugata(configuration) : Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. Kasane is thick and width on base is wide, there is saki-zori curvature leading to middle point.
Kitae(forging pattern) : Combination of prominent ko-mokume(tight wooden grain) and entwined flowing grain marks. Jigane is covered in minute ji-nie hard metal granules over the surface of blade. There is delicate UTSURI reflection in the the entire hiraji that generates clear blue surface. The entire jigane is delicately beautiful.
Hamon(tempering pattern) : Hamon is SUGUHA (straight tempering line) with delicate slanted nie-ashi short lines into the hardened edge frequently, bright nioi-kuchi. The interior of temper is filled with uniform snow-white NIOI activity. The entire tempering is impressively bright and vivid.
Boshi (tip): Straight(sugu), medium circle turn-back.
Nakago(tang) : Ubu(unaltered) with Osujikai file marks, one mekugi-ana(retaining hole), Iriyama(sharpened heel) signed six large character that reads Hi-go-no-kami Hata MITSU-SHIRO and the hakiura is chiselled as Sho-tetsu-wo-motte kore-wo tsukuru.
The shape of this katana, an extended length with sakizori-curvature is impressively beautiful. Shinogi ridge is high and wide width, ample and massive hiraniku. This katana is strikingly healthy. Jigane is strongly forged with tight mokume hada which is slightly active with UTSURI-reflection. The master smith Hata Mitsushiro was founded in Yamshiro-province, born in Mino. He learned from Ishido Tsushimanokami Tachibana TSUNEMITSU and became an adopted child of Echu-no-kami SADAYUKI. He had exclusively worked for the master kenjutsu practice instructor [Yagyu-Renyasai-Shigekane] had worked some famous swords for him and his families. This katana belonged to his Yamashiro-den, the entire blade is refined, The tang is in an excellent condition and nice patina. This katana shows a typical workmanship of Mistushiro, hidden an awe-inspiring power.
